The Department of Information Science and Engineering was established in the year 2000 with the objective of producing engineering graduates equipped with the right skill sets to meet the demands of the rapidly growing software industry. With an annual intake of 60 students, the department boasts well-qualified faculty, state-of-the-art laboratories, and smart classrooms, all designed to provide an exceptional learning experience.
In addition to its robust academic framework, the department organizes guest lectures by renowned industry experts, conducts workshops, and offers dedicated support for internships and placements, thanks to the efforts of our enterprising faculty. The success of our alumni, who have secured positions in top companies such as Infosys, TCS, Accenture, Cognizant, Dell, Intel, and many others, stands as a testament to the department’s excellence.
Historically viewed as a complementary field to conventional computer science, the demand for IS&E has seen a steady rise in recent years. This shift is driven by increasing awareness among software industry professionals and growing recognition during campus recruitments. This trend has been particularly evident in the KCET seat allotments over the past three years.
