EEE Department that has over three decades been contributing to the intellectual prowess of Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College. It provides quality education in a conventional discipline. This lab will give practical exposure on transformers and Generators. We conduct experiments on parallel operation of two single phase transformers of different KVA rating, testing of transformer and synchronous machine. We also study the connection of single phase transformers for three phase operation
In this lab we conduct experiments to design and test half wave, full wave rectifier circuits, different amplifier and oscillator circuits using BJT. We also study the simplification of Boolean expressions using logic gates and realize different Adders and Subtractors circuits
In this lab Assembly language programs on 8051 microcontroller are executed using keil software. The programs are related to data transfer, arithmetic, Boolean and logical instructions, code conversions, generation of delays, counters, configuration of SFRs for serial communication and timers. We also conduct experiments on interfacing modules like dc motor stepper Motor, traffic lights, elevators, 7 segment display, ADC& DAC.etc.
This lab will give practical exposure on semiconductor devices like power diode, SCR, MOSFET, IGBT, DIAC, and TRIAC. This lab comprises of single phase controlled, full wave rectifier and AC voltage controller with Rand RL loads and single phase full bridge inverter connected to resistive load
Here the students undergo practical training using MATLAB over various physical systems/ transfer functions. Stability analysis is done using Bode Plot and Root Locus Techniques. Other equipment like AC Servomotors, DC Servomotors, Synchros and lead lag compensators are utilized to observe the parameters physically.
In this lab we conduct experiments using MATLAB software in evaluating the DFT and IDFT , to verify the convolution property of the DFT, design and implementation of IIR and FIR filters for given frequency specifications and realize IIR and FIR filters.
In this lab students will conduct experiments related to over-current relay IDMT characteristics, current –time characteristics of fuse, operating characteristics of microprocessor based over current, distance over/under voltage relay. We also have high voltage testing models like electrolytic tank, sphere gap, breakdown strength of transformer oil etc.
